Housing Affordability Roundtable

Blog

The Ottawa Board of Trade (OBOT) was proud to partner with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) to co-host the first in-person roundtable discussion in support of the Ontario Chamber Network’s Housing Affordability Initiative. Key stakeholders from non-profit, private, and public organizations from across the region joined us to share insights and ideas on how to best address the housing affordability crisis in Ontario.

Participants in the roundtable focused on three central areas of discussion; demographics, infrastructure, and case studies.

In tandem with data from our Business Growth Survey and the Ontario Economic Report, these roundtable discussions happening across the province will inform future policy and advocacy priorities for OBOT and the OCC. Affordable housing is critical to improving quality of life, a key factor in determining where people choose to live, work, learn and play. OBOT looks forward to working with the OCC and Ontario Chamber Network to advocate to all levels of government on behalf of our members and communities for further solutions, initiatives, and investments to address the housing crisis.
