Coordinator, Communications & Integrated Marketing

The Ottawa Board of Trade is searching for a Coordinator, Communications & Integrated Marketing to support the execution of communications and marketing initiatives that strengthen member engagement, promote events and advocacy, and grow awareness of the organization. Working closely with the Director and Manager, Communications & Integrated Marketing, you will create content across multiple channels, coordinate campaigns, manage digital communications, and help ensure a consistent brand experience.

Role Responsibilities

  • Write content for member and stakeholder communications to support OBOT’s brand visibility, advocacy, recruitment, retention, and engagement goals, ensuring all messaging aligns with strategic priorities and reinforces OBOT as a convener and advocate.​
  • Create digital and print communications, including regular member and public newsletters, emails, and social media content, by drafting, producing, scheduling, and monitoring engagement across all assigned channels.​
  • Provide responsive support to members to communicate and activate advertising benefits.
  • Support the planning and delivery of event communications (invitations, reminders, post-event surveys), tracking engagement and satisfaction for continuous improvement.​
  • Create print and digital branded collateral to advertise events and membership with the support of content generation and design tools like Canva.
  • Regularly report on communications activities, digital engagement, and key performance metrics, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement aligned to organizational goals.​
  • Provide communications and marketing administrative support such as tracking media mentions, making website content updates, and creating event registration pages.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in communications, marketing, or content creation.
  • Advanced Canva skills -ability to design polished, on-brand graphics and marketing materials.
  • Familiarity with Constant Contact, Mailchimp, or other e-mail marketing platforms.
  • Strong writing and editing abilities, with attention to tone, clarity, and brand identity.
  • Understanding of social media strategy and scheduling tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Later).
  • Basic knowledge of short-form video editing is an asset.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Degree or diploma in communications, marketing, or a related field
